position details

2024–25 wages are $125.00 per service for section musicians and $152.50 per service for Assistant Principal. Additionally, all musicians receive a daily travel allowance, pension contribution, and housing option. Forty-four services are planned, though this number may change slightly.

Audition Location

Auditions will be held at San Jose State University. Additional details will be sent when application is accepted.

DECEMBER 30, 2024


How to Apply

Highly qualified applicants are invited to apply by submitting their resume and a $50.00 audition deposit refundable at the time of audition. Verified eligibility for employment is required. Applications must be received no later than one week before the date of the audition. Candidates will be sent details after review and acceptance of their application.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Deposit will NOT be refunded for no-shows and for cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the audition.


Employment Conditions

The Audition Committee of the Santa Cruz Symphony reserves the right to dismiss immediately any candidate not meeting the highest professional standards at these auditions.

Employment to begin in February 2025 or the candidate's earliest availability thereafter.
