WATSONVILLE — Children gasped and called out excitedly as the Santa Cruz Symphony played the first notes of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5  at the Henry J. Mello Center on Tuesday morning.

The Need: More Music Education in Schools

Music education is limited in Santa Cruz County, and is provided on a school by school basis. Some schools have music teachers, some don’t. Some grades have  music teachers, some don’t. We want to work to help fill that gap....
