HAPPY NEW YEAR!
FROM DANNY AND ALL OF US AT THE SANTA CRUZ SYMPHONY
The Santa Cruz Symphony has been a cornerstone of the performing arts community in Santa Cruz County since 1958. In all that time, our organization has never met the types of challenges we face today. We dearly miss seeing our patrons at our Saturday evening concerts at the Civic and our Sunday matinees at the Mello. Though we are physically distanced, music has the distinctive ability to transcend the barriers that separate us.
While we wait to perform, Maestro Daniel Stewart is connecting us to inspirational music through our Symphony at Home series, which highlights past performances with new commentary and exclusive interviews with our soloists and principal musicians.
In partnership with the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, we have implemented Carnegie Hall’s music education program, Link Up, for our county’s 4th and 5th graders, even with the unique challenges of distance learning. Our Classical Music Classrooms program, a free resource for all teachers in the county, exposes children to composers and the creative process of music.
A conductor cannot bring a piece of music to life without an orchestra, and our organization cannot thrive without our supporters. Please consider making a gift to our Santa Cruz Symphony today to ensure that we remain part of our vibrant arts community.
We cannot wait for that special day when we can return to the stage with live performances, when it is safe for you, our musicians, and our community. Thank you for your consideration and support.
