Luminance Trio: Episode 2

Luminance Trio Episode 2

In the first Luminance Trio episode with Matt Ebisuzaki, Saul Richmond-Rackerd and Amelia Romano, we got to know more about their love of the Santa Cruz Symphony in an intimate interview with Maestro Danny Stewart.

In this second episode, we are treated to a beautiful performance in a garden setting high above the stunning Monterey Bay. Tune in to a musical experience that feels like you are being serenaded right in your backyard!

BOARD MATCH CHALLENGE!

BOARD MATCH CHALLENGE!

Though we may still be physically distanced, the Symphony’s connection to our community has never been more paramount. Through your support, you’ve demonstrated the mutual appreciation, investment and trust that binds us.

This relationship between the Symphony and the Santa Cruz community is our guiding light, shaping our history and our future. Through these times, you are our foremost consideration. We celebrate your central role as our audience by providing you with safe ways to engage with our artistry, such as our Symphony at Home series, High Notes magazine and keeping you informed of our plans and preparations for future events.

The Symphony’s education programs are still in full swing, despite the challenges of distance learning. Our county’s schools have received virtual musician visits from our orchestra members, to teach children about their instruments and how an orchestra works. Carnegie Hall’s Link Up curriculum is being implemented after working with the County Office of Education to adapt this program for the virtual classroom. We remain committed to inspiring young children to love and play classical music.

As we position our Symphony to return to the stage safely, we are confident that we will come back stronger than ever. Our Board of Directors is confident too, and they are pledging $40,000 as a matching challenge to the community. Double your impact by making a gift by March 30 and your generosity will be matched dollar-for-dollar by our board.

Mueller Scholarships Applications Accepted now!

APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED NOW!

The Santa Cruz Symphony is now accepting applications for the 2021 Mueller Scholarship Program! These scholarships will be used for "needy and deserving children" to pay for private lessons, youth ensembles, or youth music camperships. Individual grants usually range from $300-$1000.

Music students who are under 17 as of July 1, 2021 and residents of Santa Cruz County are encouraged to apply.  Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of financial need, a regular practice schedule, and a demonstrated commitment of at least one year with an orchestral instrument. Applications must be submitted no later than April 1st, 2021 and can be found at santacruzsymphony.org

If you know of students who are learning an instrument who would like to further their studies, please encourage them to apply!
